Coached by Jack Segurson, the squad participated in interscholastic meets with other schools in the Tucson area. The team practiced at the Central Y.M.C.A. indoor pool every Tuesday and Thursday. GAA Open to Girls Interested in Sports The Girls Athletic Association, spon- sored by Miss Hines, is open to all girls interested in sports and athletic events. It's purpose is to promote fun and recre- ation in the Held of girls sports. The skills that are learned in the regular physical education classes are played in GAA. Many team and individual sports are played. This organization is actually an outgrowth of the P. E. program for girls who want to get further enjoyment out of sports. . Catalina's GAA participated ,in sports days with other schools, competing in such sports as hockey, archery, and basketball.
