Carl Hayden became the Trojans, third victim of the season as the Trojans outgunned the Falcons to win 52-43. Dan Breck led the Trojans with 16 points. Dec. 18-Catalina 62, Tucson 60. Buddy Doolen flipped in a one-handed jump shot with 7 seconds left on the clock to give the Trojans a tight 62-60 win over rival Tucson High. The Trojans, trailing by three at the half fought back to win in the final seconds. Steve Miles led Catalina with 16 points. Dec. 19-Catalina 45, Phoenix Union 76. The Tro- Jan. 1 Jan. 8 jans suffered a big letdown in falling to the State champion Coyotes. Buddy Doolen led the Trojans with 12 points. -Catalina 65, Nogales 38. The Trojans started the new year off by handing the Nogales Apaches a 65-38 defeat. Dan Breck led all scorers with 14 points. -Catalina 67, Amphi 39. The Trojans, led by Buddy Doolen's 16 points, outshot Amphi and coasted to a 67-39 win over their northside rivals. Jan. 9-Catalina 52, South Mountain 51. The Tro- jans blew an 8 point lead and barely defeated the Rebels from South Mountain by one point. Buddy Doolen led the Trojans with 20 points. s The long arms of Dan Breck snare a rebound against Pueblo. Alan Head and Steve Miles keep their eye on the ball against Amphi. Don Carbiener, Steve Miles, Mike Sorey. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Jan. Feb. 15-Rincon 52, Catalina 45. A fired up Rincon team proved to be too much for the Trojans to handle as the Rangers stormed from behind in the final quarter to overpower Catalina 52-45. Dan Breck led the Trojans with 16 points. 16-Catalina 52, West Phoenix 43. The Trojans, led by Dan Breck's 12 points, overpowered the West High Thunderbirds 52-43 in a game at C.H.S. Former Trojan Bill Johnson managed to score two points for the Thunderbirds. 22-Catalina 60, Salpointe 48. The Trojans took an easy 60-48 win over the Salpointe Lancers to up their season record to 9-3. Dan Breck led all scorers with 17 points. 23-Catalina 78, Mesa 64. Dan Breck pumped in 19 markers to lead the Trojans to a 78-64 win over the Mesa Jackrabbits. 29-Catalina 58, Pueblo 42. The Pueblo Warriors were defeated by the Trojans for the second time 58-42. Buddy Doolen led Catalina with 15 points. 5-Catalina 60, Tucson 44. Led by Steve Miles with 17 points, the Trojans took a surprisingly easy win over the Tucson High Badgers 60-44. The Trojans had a 47-34 lead at the end of 3 quarters and the Badgers failed to make a come- back. The win was the biggest ever for the Trojans over Tucson and gave them a 6-3 edge in the series.
