The Thunderbirds slipped by the Trojans dropping them into the consolation bracket. Catalina won the next three straight games spilling the Tucson Badgers for the third time during the season 63-50 topping Morenci by a score of 60-55 and then Superior 63-62 to win the consolation tournament. Trojan Bill Mower was named to the All-Tournament first team for his outstanding performance. At the end of the season the Trojans had outscored opponents with a season total of 1283 to ll07. Kirk Young and Bill Mower made AA South first team along with first team All-City. On the second team All-City were center Glen Perrin and sophomore guard Neal Genda. A tense moment during the tourna- ment and Bill Kemmeries gives words of encouragement to the Trojan squad.
