McC1uney, R. Marques, S, Boyd, J. Willey, G. Johnson,R. Christensen, Daily practice sessions plus skillful direction again this year molded the Castro Valley band into a fine marching unit. Directed by Mr. Elliot Charnow, the band played and marched at halftime of all varsity football games and aided the song girls in their performances. The band took part in many school affairs, and this year sponsored a pancake breakfast held at the school in early December at which almost 31,000 was raised towards the purchase of new uniforms. By adding spirit and color to football games and rallies, Castro Valley's marching band performed a great service to the entire student body.
