District Administrators DAVID DICKIE Director of Administrative Services Make Policies During the 1964-1965 school year Dr. Lawrence Ramm and Mr. David Dickie carried out the policies formulated by the Board of Trustees. Dr. Ramm, the district superintendant, and Mr. Dickie, Director of Administrative Services, worked on a program that would train students who were interested in the industrial vocational arts make them eligible for immediate job placement. Dr. Ramm's and Mr. Dickie's new plans and programs, such as flexible scheduling at Canyon High, did much to create a progressive atmosphere in Canyon-Valleyltligh School District. Much of their attention was also focused on unification of the school districts. 202 For the Board of Trustees of the Canyon- Valley High School Dis- trict the 1964-1965 school Board of Trustees year held many important events. Number one among these was the opening of Canyon High in September. The other important oc- curances of the past year were the flexible-sched- uling experiment atCanyon and the unification and tax election in December. Dr. Mary Castle was elected President of the Board by her four colleagues, who were Mr. George Albert, Mr. Robert Forbes, Drt John Mott and Mr. Harold D. 204 As part of his job as principal, Dr. Bush keeps abreast of the latest trends in school administration. Dr. Bush and Assistants The main administrative body at Castro Valley for 1964-1965 Was headed by Dr. Robert Bush and three assistantprincipals, Mrs. Virginia Anderson, Mr. Robert Lincoln, and Mr, Mark Facer. Responsible for a Wide range of school affairs,Dr. Bush and Administrative Council formulated school policies regarding activities, rules and student conduct. Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Lincoln were the Assistant Principals in Charge of Girls' and Boys' Welfare and were responsible for student discipline, while Mr. Facer, the other assistant prin- cipal was in charge of guidance and coun- seling.
