Thomsen, S Ll Members of Drama Club discuss the merits of Meet Corliss Archer shortly before they begin rehearsing. 1 - Townsend, D. Huntsman, K. Hail, N. Main, R. Riendeau, D. Fowler, L. Oliver. Studying the fundamentals of producing and directing, the Drama Club put on a three-act comedy in mid-April entitled Meet Corliss Archer. The Club, under the supervision of Mr. William R. Russell, presented the play at A. B. Morris Junior High School. Officers included Gary Reeves, President: Renee Haynes, Vice-Presidentg Sue Camper, Secretary: Kathy Hail, Treasurerg and Dan Quan, Parliamentarian. aduceus Members Plan Medical Careers 55'- Students listen to Terrie Tiffany's lecture on nursing. Brought together by a common interest in medicine, members of Caduceus Club did much to broaden each others' knowledge in this field. They listened to guest speakers, viewed films and took a field trip to the San Jose State College Nursing School. School and community service projects that were handled by Caduceus Club were an Easter candy sale, the proceeds from which were given to needy families, and a scholarship for a graduating student. Conley Band Officers Make Plans Established for the purpose of managing the band's business, Band Council did a fine job. During the year the Council managed the Pancake Breakfast to raise money for new band uniforms and wrote a new action code for band mem- bers. In addition,the Coun- cil staged a Spring Band Concert. Da.nce Band members practice First year teacher Mr. Charnow stresses the diminuendo to the orchestra. their numbers for the next dance. Photo Skills Developed Photo Club, advised by Mr. Rose was establishedthis February as usual, and was made up mainly of photography students. Meeting in the dark room, members learned how to develop, reduce, and en- large pictures. Also, they learned how to use filters in FRONT ROW: S. Sutton, S. Wells, K. Alcorn, J. ROW THREE: D. Zinn, D. Mefford, R. Perron, W. Kulm. Hum Radios Built Boys interested in the field of radio met every other Week this year. As well as making their own ham sets, the members learned how to fix and modernize old radios. Building trans- mitters, receivers, and convertors also occu- pied many oftheir meet- ings. Tom Hertlein installs amodern speaker on an antique radio. Future Pilots Meet Aviation Club, ad- vised by Mr. Beavers, offered the opportunity for boys to meet and share experiences. Also, films, speeches by pilots, and trips to airports made up the activities of this group. The president and most active member was Lee Bardellini, who had thirty-five hours of fly- ing time. Most of the other members worked primarily with model airplanes, Lee Bardellini adjusts his pro- peller shortly before taking off. Math Careers Explored Brought together by a common interest in mathematics, members of the Math Club held many activities to improve their knowledge of this field. The club, advised by Mr. David Altmann, spent its meetings viewing movies, listening to guest speakers and taking field trips. One such trip was to the University ofCalifornia's cyclotron. Through their stimulating and interesting meetings Math Club members promoted interest in an important field. Math Club members construct geometric figures, applying theorems which they have learned.
