Varsity athletes who qualified for this organization took part in all school activities: ushered at all home varsity football and basket- ball games, staged the Fall and Spring Awards Banquets and the November Campus Clean-up. This year Castro Valley was host to the H.A.A.L. basket- ball tournament, which was supervised by Block C.V. The proceeds earned enough money to buy a Whirlpool bath for the athletic department. Created as an arm of Executive Council, The Nominations and Elections Committee did much to lighten the jobs of council members. Presided over by chairman Lee Bardellini, Nominations and Elections was responsible for conducting all class and student body elections. The committee determined general qualifications for all candidates, checked their grade point averages, and certified petitions. On voting day itself, the committee printed all ballots, conducted the voting, and counted the votes. Other members of the Nominations and Elections Committee were Susie Sutton, Joyce Boring, Sandy Logan, Pam Logan, Mike Nikkari, Dick Fitzmaurice, John Gwaltney, Mary Ekorn, P aula Loeffler, and Charles Henry O'Brien. Clubs, Committees Coordinate Activities at C. V. fw- Council Secretary Dyann Martin recopies her minutes from the last meeting. The job of co-ordinating all activities and money-making projects of every club at Castro Valley was the job of Club Council. Presided over by Joanne Hodge in the fall and Mike Parodi in the spring, Club Council was made up of one repre- sentative of each club in the school and was created for the purpose of helping the clubs to manage their business affairs and promote unity between the various organizations. As liason betweenthe clubs and Executive Council, Club Council did much to promote co-operation between the organizations and the rest of the student body.
