Surrounded by her court, Sandy Wel was crowned Spartan Sports Queen f 1964. After her presentation to the gran stand audience at the Miramonte footba game, senior nominees Sandy Wells, Lin Grisel and Linda Cox were whisked off the Spartan Sweetheart Dance along wi class sweethearts Linda Mills,Yola Pont qjuniorgy, 'Kathy Reeves, Linda Vardy fsop omoresl, Jonnie Kay Neavill and Holly High qfreshmeny. With everyone who attended th dance voting on entering the Cafeteri anxiety among the contestants grew unt Sandy's name was announced. Along witht traditional bouquet of red roses, Sandy re ceived the crown from Janice Bibea last year's queen. 2 'B King of the Belles--Tom Beck . x,.,..?sV3'1 3-x x Tom appealed to C,V, students both as athlete and scholar. Boys League, Comprised of every boy and girl at Castro Valley, Boys League and Girls League did a fine job of sponsoring activities that included the entire student body. Established by the school charter, Boys and Girls Leagues con- tinued to serve the school. Important activities in- cluded the Christmas Bas- ket Drive, the Junior- Senior Basketball game in February and the Big Sister Tea in the fall, at which senior girls told new fresh- men girls about life at Castro Valley High. These two groups also sponsored the King of the Belles dance in the fall at which Tom Beck was selected from eight candidates as the girls' image of the ideal boy. Nominees Randy Loyd, Tom Beck, Brian Cadinha, Steve Wilkman, Paul Hermann, Bob Kellogg, Torn Jorde, and Rick Quintanal.
