JUNE MORRIS Girls with all different futures and goals in life make up Castro Valley's H o m e m a k i n g classes. Whether composed of college prep, business majors, or homemaking majors, classes are always made up of girls eager with the natural desire of learn- ing to cook and sew. Ranging in difficulty, detail and skill, cook- ing and sewing are the basic subjects taught in all four years of homemaking. In addition each level goes into other areas in- cluding home nursing in the sophomore year, interior dec- orating and child care in the junior year, and family relations, money management, and general review of the past three years in the senior. By working on indivi- dual, as well as group projects the girls learn by the best, and in this case the only reliable method-- e Xp e r i e n c e. Always learning and constantly busy, they begin to understand the in- volved, and not always so simple life of a homemaker.
