Hoping to make headway into the business World or simply supplementing their college prep programs, stu- dents taking courses in business education perform many services for the school. Those enrolled in Applied Office Practice, for example, could be found anywhere from the library to the principal's office putting into action such skills as record k e e p in g, typing and alphabetizing. Other courses offered in the business area are: Book- keeping, a must for any business major since ac- counting is the language of that fieldg Business English, which fulfills third year English requirements for secretarial majorsg Clerical Office Practice, which in- cludes skills and procedures common to many general office jobsg General Business which provides a background of information on various types of businesses, Office Machines, in which students learn how to operate comp- tometers, addressographs, r ota r y calculators, and multiliths. Other courses in- cluded in this field a r e Recordkeeping, Retailing, and Shorthand and Typing, courses which many college prep students take as their electives in preparation for work in future school years.
