Cathaho, R, Rorabeck, R, Swart, Tim Hanley works hard in the 100 yard backstroke, during the H.A.A.L. Relays. Spartan swimmers wait for the results of the H.A.A.L, Relays in which Castro Valley placed first. Swimmin For the last two years Castro Valley High SChool's swimming Team has placed first in the H.A.L team championships, while also go- ing undefeated both years in dual meets. Two of the outstanding members on the team were diver Rich Hirshman, who has taken first in varsity H.A.L, competition since his freshman year, and Fred Bancalavi, who has set many school records and has placed first in the H.A.L. 100 yard butterfly also since his freshman ear. Under the coaching of M1f.Bog, Haywood, the team as a whole has worked hard this year to bring the H,A.A.L. Championship to Castro ValleyHigh School.
