FootbaH Showing great strength a nd spe e d, the Spartan Junior Varsity Football breezed to first place honors in the 1963 HAAL. With the record of 6 wins 1 tie and no losses, Castro Valley J. V.'s found Foothill High, despite its league standings, to be their toughest opponents with its strong defense and fastrunning backs. Fight- ing hard and with determination though, the Spartan J.V.'s managed to tie in a scoreless game and maintain their first place standing. An overall 'picture of how well the team did under Coach Brosnan can be seen in the statis- tics accumulated at the end of the season. The 1900 total yards gained by Castro Valley con- trasted greatly to the 472 of its opponents.
