CAROLYN SMITH Always there to cheer on the team through victory as well as defeat were our Basketball Cheer- leaders and Song Girls. After work- ing for hours, learning different routines, and going through the ordeal of appearing before judges, each girl could now fulfill her dreams -- to lead C.V. Spartans through cheers and songs for their team. Requirements for tryouts are attendance at all Pep Club meetings, a 2.5 grade average and sophomore standing. Once attaining their posi- tions the girls then begin to create new routines and to teach them to prospective cheerleaders and song girls. Other activities besides attending all games are meeting with other schools and performing in skits and routines at school as- semblies. By continually creating spirit through rallies and pep talks, this year's group, along with our good team, brought record crowds to the basketball games. .
