190 DENNIS McKENZIE Fall Student Body President One of Dennis' hobbies is playing the guitar. The Ruling Castro ValZey's Fall Student Body Presi- dent, Dennis McKenzie, left behind an admirable record in student government. Starting out early in school politics, as aFreshman interest- ed in student affairs, Dennis served as Fall Class Treasurer and Spring Class Vice-Presi- dent. Before his election to the office of Stu- dent Body President he had served twice before on Executive Council--once as Junior Class President and again when chosen Club Council Chairman. Dennis's main objective, during his term as Chief Executive, was the addition of a legislative branch to student government in the form of an Assembly. Busy as he was writing new constitutional provisions, Dennis also found time to help in the collection of money toward payment of the football lights. This hard work toward better student government will always be remembered as the most im- portant accomplishment of his term of office. Also to the credit of his administration, was the construction of a senior lawn and work of his Vice President, Larry Downs in improving assemblies and the Sound-Off Rally. Dennis addresses the student body at an assembly.

Serving as the chief executive branch for the student body and heading its functions, the 1963 Fall Executive Council accomplished a great deal. Its long list of accomplishments started with construction of the Senior Lawn. As major step toward C.V.'s goal of more and better senior privileges , they worked throughout the summer, under chairman Mike Vanderbyl. Improvement ofassemblies and revisions and additions to the Sound-Off Rally are also credited to '63' Executive Council. Heading their list, though, were the constitutional revisions and recommendation of a Student Assembly and Student Board of Inquiry. After long hours of hard work in drawing up the provisions, they presented their proposals for Student Body approval. Although the Board of Inquiry did not pass the Student Assembly was established providing a way for better student government. I FRONT ROW-' F. Morjig, L. Gallo, B. Belden, H.l-laughy, K. Williams B.
