FB An excellent job was done by the JV team this year. They placed second among the JV teams of Southern Alameda County and they look forward to doing a good job on the varsity team. The golf team did a very excellent job this year considering that we have had a golf team for only two years. At the first meet, played at Hayward Golf Course, Castro Valley placed second. Castro Valley was off to a head start this year with most of its team intact from last year. Castro Valley won every meet they wrestled in. With every game, the matmen were more sure of beating the Hayward Farmers for the Alameda County Athletic League Champion- ship. After beating out every opponent in the ACAL match, Castro Valley went on to win the State Championship Tournament held at Fresno. Three men, Bob Paterson, John Mc- Beth and Dennis O'Connell placed first in the state, but it was the entire team who piled up the points to win the State Championship.
