Castro Valley was off to a head start this year with most of its team intact from last year. Castro Valley won every meet they wrestled in. With every game, the matmen were more sure of beating the Hayward Farmers for the Alameda County Athletic League Champion- ship. After beating out every opponent in the ACAL match, Castro Valley went on to win the State Championship Tournament held at Fresno. Three men, Bob Paterson, John Mc- Beth and Dennis O'Connell placed first in the state, but it was the entire team who piled up the points to win the State Championship.
