FB An excellent job was done by the JV team this year. They placed second among the JV teams of Southern Alameda County and they look forward to doing a good job on the varsity team. The golf team did a very excellent job this year considering that we have had a golf team for only two years. At the first meet, played at Hayward Golf Course, Castro Valley placed second. The Spartan defense proved to be too much for the farmers as the Spar- tans won the game I4 to 0. White jerseys converge upon a Pirate back as the Spartans head towards their second league victory, as evidenced by the 7-0 score in the background. The score ended with a 14 to 13 victory for the Valleyans. Jet speedster Maurice Williams, penetrates the Valley front wall but is unable to elude the green secondary as he heads for the turf. Moving in on the Encinal back are Gerry Dufour ll5l, Craig Preisendorf l70l. and Bob Paterson l47l.
