Qiflflii, CAROL AN N SCRANTON BORN-OCTOBER 23, 1942 DIED--FEBRUARY 8, 1959 lt was with deep regret that the students of Castro Valley High learned of Carol Scranton's death. Those that knew her liked her. Carol, a member of the junior class, died Sunday, February 8, 1959 of injuries re- ceived in an automobile accident on the previous Friday night. She was born in Hayward on October 23, 1942. ln elementary grade, she attended Markham and Baywood and in junior high, Bret Harte and Strobridge. She spent her first two years of high school at Hayward and came to Castro Valley High School in her junior year. Carol had an open smile for everyone and made many friends among the Spartans in the short time that she was here. Carol was above average in her school work, but her real interest was modern danc- ing, at which she spent long hours of practice. She was also active in Job's Daughters. ln memory of our friend and classmate, Carol Scranton, we dedicate this page. AW This year we would like to extend our appreciation to Mr. Vickory, Mr. Gibson and Mr. Fashinell of the Kee Coleman Studios in San Francisco, for their help and able assist- ance in the production of our yearbook . . . also Mr. Brazelton, Mr. Hanscom and Mr, Mar- tini of the Brazelton-Hanscom Printing Co. in Berkeley . . . Remo Buti and Alex Davis of the senior art problem class for their co-operation in helping us with designing our cover. . . and finally to all the faculty and students for their kind patience, enabling us to take their pictures.
