ENGLISH Our curriculum includes a very com- plete English department. Here we have reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary for all students in their freshman and sophomore year. College prep students continue with American Literature in the junior year and English 7 and 8A in the senior year. Others have for elec- tives publications, which puts out the yearbook, journalism, which puts out the school newspaper, public speaking, drama, directed reading, and English 5 and 6, lan advanced course in reading and writingl. In our Junior year we take up United States History from Columbus to Eisenhower. With the aid of films and work in the library, we learn the feats and defeats of our forefathers. FOREIGN LANGUAGE Our foreign language classes present the oppor- tunity to learn to read and understand, to write and to speak a foreign language, to learn about the cul- ture of a foreign country, and to learn to think out the complexities of language.
