SHIPPING FOR THE BENEFITS BTl Stokes re-enlists on board CASTOR. Re-enlistment is always an important day in the life of the career Navyman, for the Navy is more than a job to these. It is a way of life. The Navy needs to retain qualified people, and to this end it offers various incentives; a variable re-enlist- ment bonus, choice of duty station, conver- sion programs, lump-sum leave payment, and re -enlistment leave. But what is the real reason for ship- ping over in the Navy? DKl Swensen ships for chicken in soup.
