A spirited Crusader eleven. display- ing sterling team work and exuberant all- around ability downed the hard-fighting Pirates 19 to 6. One oi the Knlght's determining factors in victory was the stellar puntlnq ol their quarterback. Dave Mann. End Dell Hallock and center Bob Nichollesen turned in line defensive pertorrnances. CASTLEIMQNT 7 OAKLAND 12 Already removed from the O.A.l.. charn' pionship contention, the Knights were never- theless determined to down the Oakland Wildcats. who were favored to win the O.A.L. Castlemorit gave the rugged Wild- cats a good contest and the hall-time score saw the Knights leading 7-6. However. Oakiand's heavy line proved too much lor Castlemont to cope with and the tinal score was 12 to 7 in favor of the Cats. A Back Roy Baxter and Dewi! Hankins kept plunging through the Castle delense for large gains. t CASTLEMONT 7 - MCCLYMONDS 19 Castlemonfs second O.A.l.. tilt found them playing host to the McClyrnonds war- riors who were undefeated in league com- petition. Not anticipating McCIymonds' last line caused the Knights to lose the ball on two occasions deep in their own territory. McClymonds capitalized on these two op- portunities and converted them into the margin ol victory as they beat Castlemont 19 to 7. Castlernonfs offensive was kept pretty well bottled up throughout the game as Macl-t's two speedy ends kept breaking up the Knights' spread plays. Q CRSTLEMONT U ef- FREMONT l3 Castlemonfs last game ot the season found them playing host to their traditional rivals. the Fremont Tigers. Not being able to win from the Knights lor ten years, the Tigers came all tuned up. desperate for a win. Casllemont did not anticipate the Tigers' lury and played their worst game ol the season as Fremont easily beat the Knights 13 to 0. Highlight of the afternoon was a Statue of Liberty play pulled by the Tigers which netted them their last touchdown.
