cbrnlnrnn rusahes HIS year Coach Rxchert recelved a few well deserved breaks 1n the way of materlal whlch he molded 1nto a team that fought 1ts way 1nto an undlsputed O A L champ1onsh1p the first 1n the hxstory of the school W1th a speed burnmg backheld the fastest m the league a better than average lme and plenty of fight Castlemont s Crusaders top pled team after team untll they reached thelr long cherxshed goal To rev1ew the O A L season let us conslder what happened Wlth Plrate cutlasses clangrng rmpotently on sh1n1ng Crusader armor San Leandro s hopes were sunk by the final score 7 0 Unforgetful of the unhors mg of 33 our Rampag1ng Avengers dashed 1nto Bushrod at full t1tlt and swlftly slew a terrorlzed Cub 13 7 Next a group of bell1gerent Teddles vaxnly flung themselves 1n the path of the Purple Rxders 1n an attempt to stem the march but crumpled lgnommlously 31 6 Easlng up to a trot the Purple Rlders felt the force of a cagey Bulldog s Jaws early 1n the game and were thrown O 7 Chant1ng Beat McClymonds our Castle Guards rose to the oc cas1on to slaughter a desperate trlbe of tomahawk wreldmg Braves, 6 0 Oak land s feeble Wlldcat a mere shadow of 1ts former self llstlessly scraped dull claws on sh1n1ng steel and then lard down and d1ed 31 O jlttery at the possl b1l1ty of belng O A L champlons our Flymg Kmghts shook off thelr cares and rambled lnto the Tlgers den and emerged unscatched and v1ctor1ous 12 O Llstlessly gomg through the mot1ons1n a post season charlty game our Crusaders forgot thexr Crusade and took lt on the chm from the San FFHHCISCO Champlons G3l1l60 1n Kezar Stadlum Thus ended one of the best football sea sons 1n the hlstory of Castlemont a season whxch we may well v1ew wlth prlde I I . . . , .
