S CLUB The S Club, sponsored by the Soroptimist Club of Chula Vista, emphasizes developing leader- ship and expanding friendships through service activities supporting both school and community. ln the highly selective group, each member is expected to devote time, energy and talent to all club proiects. Such proiects include sponsoring of a Korean orphan through the Foster Parent Plan, car washes and other sales activities to raise needed funds, collecting soap for the Vietnamese, cleaning bleachers after a home game, and co-sponsoring the annual Christmas Basket Canned Food Drive. As the only boys' sewice club on campus, this dedicated group focuses its attention on providing needed services to both school and com- munity. Under the guidance of Advisor John Beasley, the boys undertake numerous worthy projects running the gamut from sponsering rooter buses for away games to making door-to-door collections for the Heart Fund. The club agenda also includes a number of well-planned social activities including the always- well-attended annual year-end trip to Disneyland. Di rectorl . The purpose of the Health Careers Club is to generate and support student interest in the health field professions. Through visiting lecturers and field trips, members are provided opportunity to explore at first hand Ill' E I-I R E E R the work done by various medical field professionals and thus develop an effective basis for making their own career decisions. HEALTH CAREERS--FIRST ROW: Enriquette Ponce, Vice-President Linda Harbin, Secretary Sheryl Graft, Corresponding Secretary Liz Mulkey, Sue Burford, Ana Shere, Sherry Bons, Marsha Bailey, Liz Mendez. SECOND ROW: Advisor Ethel Gregory, Jan Hildebrand, Cheryl Pate, Retha Jen- nings, Jean Smith, Sharon Jones, Alice Cunningham, Anita Jennings, Diane Graft, Betti Ellis, Connie Burford. THIRD ROW: Linda Sweeny, Carrie Causey, Indra Douglas, Treasurer Judy Moore, Cindy Tiel, Becky Foerst, Angela Gonzales, Thomasina Hargrave, Vickie Hall. NOT SHOWN: President Sandy Angel. The Art Guild brings together creative talent to provide the nucleous around whichart- oriented service projects supporting school activities can be developed. Untold hours were spent in designing and silk screening pep ribbons and program covers and creating decorations for various school socials. The club's most ambitious effort was completing two-year's work RT G LI I on an original mosaic to be mounted in the library.
