Scoring early on a blocked punt, the Trojans slipped to a 7-6 deficit when Coronado's quarterback flipped a long touchdown bomb . Shifting into high gear, Ronnie lapala started to pick the Islander secondary to shreds with his usual passing display. lapala, the undisputed leader, had such followers as Billy Daniels, who scored one touchdown, and Gene Harvey, who scored two. STANDING: Coach Korzep, Ron Iapala, Coach Hoffman, Ernie Valino, Coach Warren. In addition to the indicated school honors, Ernie Valino was named Metro Lineman of the Year and earned a position on the All-Metro defensive line. Teammates Gene Harvey COffensive Endl, Thom Buschhorn COf- fensive Tacklel, Ron Iapalo CDefensive Backl, and John Hardy fDefensive Linel, were also named to the AII- Metro Squad. Jimmy Sanchez and Ira Porter received honorable mention for their Metro efforts.
