Head GD i Q ,, r 0 655 6 Q o ' ,, 3.3 The Home Economics Department has a three-fold purpose in preparing its individual members for im- mediate employment, happy and effective family living, and advance study in Home Economics or Nursing Education. There are four curricula from which to choose: Dress Design-for the person interested in designing, mak- ing, merchandising or teaching clothing or textiles, Institutional Foods-for the individual desiring to specialize in food preparation, commercially or educationally, Pre-Nursing - for the girl who wants to become a nurse in a hospital, industry or for public health, Pre-Nursing Commercial-for anyone whose interests are in nursing and commercial work. In this curriculum the student can combine the commercial training with the technical courses-This dual program makes possible direct employment as doctors' assis- tants.
