Action was taken by the administration because students began to park in faculty spaces. Some students protested the move by staging a sit-in in Peart Park. Another first at our school was the election of a Student Body President who is a junior. David Lu was the first junior ever to be elected to the posi- tion after many student generations of a senior president. Here David introduces the candidates for Homecoming King and Queen to a group of students.

Galen Flynn and Carlos Rascon celebrate a suc- cessful play during a home football game. The team worked hard and put in many hours of prac- tice. Quarterback Galen Flynn tackles a member of the opposite team at a home football game. Tressie Warren takes a deep breath during a meet against Agua Fria. Denise Jackson thinks about the next play while Loretta Deloney jumps to return the ball. Diver Freddie Strapps hopes for a perfect entrance while other swimmers wait for their turns to com- pete. Teamwork comes together for the girls' volleyball team. Both hard work and skill are needed to be successful in the sport. Cougar spirit for sports went far beyond those participating on the field this year. Fans came to cheer the football team on, achieving record-break- ing attendance at Homecoming.
