Undoubtedly teacher's pet, Tanya Martinez volun- teers to erase the chalkboard. Concentration and precision are important to the success of bell choir. Mike Schiltz tights to spike the ball as Forest Craddock tries desperately to block the play dur- ing a lunchtime volleyball game. For Homecoming week lunch hours were combined into one 53-min- ute period and classes were shortened to 52 min- utes. The Student Council planned activities to promote school spirit. The sophomore float depicted three prospectors who had been trapped by the Cougar Border Pa- trol. The real Prospectors from Apache Junca tion High School defeated the Cougars at Home- coming 15-10. ufi U A - A Student Council organized a bonfire get-together to promote Homecoming spirit. Students partici- pated in class yells and enjoyed the fireg then it was off to finish the floats. Using the Homecoming theme, Cougars, south of the border, the senior class constructed this win- ning float. Floats were put together at the Nation- al Guard Armory during the two weeks before Homecoming.

Here they ob- serve a reaction of potassium with water. Accelerated American History students Kathy Apodaca, Tina Cress, James Faucette, Kevin Van Hazel, and Deana Lunt present their project cover- ing the Colonial period. Freshman English can be tough, and group study always helps. Jamie Costales, Brent Wilson, 0rlan- do Cervantes, Marc DeAll, and Rhett Currie com- bine forces to complete an assignment in the accel- erated class. ,fr 1
