curtis arnett b.s. arizona state college robert armstrong m.s. university of iowa kate burgett m.a. western reserve, u. math department our mathematics department offers a wide selection to the students from general math to trigonometry, on the math staff we have our experts miss burgett and mr. thomas. mr. arnett is our able new teacher and mr. armstrong is back more efficient than ever after a year absence. mr. arnett starts the freshman off with a general all over picture of mathematical problems covering every day life, miss bur- gett teaches algebra I, which is required for entrance to many colleges, it is needed by students expecting to enter specialized fields of training such as engineering or science. mr. thomas’ geometry class developes logical thinking, the course deals with angles, polygons and relationships between them. mr. armstrong deals with the advanced courses in math, those students planning a study in science and mathematics are re- commended by their advisors to include trig- onometry, solid geometry and advanced algebra in their study. arizona
