Jets Zoom Past Rams The Rams seemed mistake prone on this Fridas night game when they fell victim to the Banks Jets. The Rams offense did not seem to get a handle on the ball. Early in the first quarter the Rams got off a bad snap from center, which set Banks up for their first score on the next series of downs. Then later in the first quarter Carver again fumbled and Banks went in to score from the Rams 15 yard line. The defense held tough but to no avail as the Jets offense overcame the Rams. They drove 58 yards for their final touchdown. The Ram offense only got a small amount of yardage with the running of tailbacks Johnny Dcbardlabon and Michael Bray. The final score was Banks 23 and Carver 0. Cavaliers Escape the Rams It was the end of the season for the Rams when they came up against the Cavaliers of John Carroll. The Ram defense got off to a good start by only allowing the Cavaliers three downs before having to punt. Afterwards, the Rams offense began to work with a drive from their own 45 yard line to go on to score when quarterback Kinnie Morris passed 15 yards to split-end l.estcr Young. The extra point attempt failed, and the Rams led 6-0 in the first quarter. During the second quarter there was a defensive battle between both teams, but the Cavaliers managed to get a drive going. They advanced down the field to score. The extra point was good and they led 7-6 at the half. In the second half the Rams took the kickoff, but could not seem to ground out any yardage against the strong defense of the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers took over the ball and drove for two more scores making the score 21-6. In the final minutes of the game, the Rams linebacker Johnny Green picked up a Cavalier fumble and raced 85 yards for a Carver score. The game ended with John Carroll on top 21-12. 98

Rams Foil the Pacesetters It was a night of questionable calls against the Rams when they fell victim to the Hayes Pacesetters by a score of 7-6. This was truly a night to remember when the two great rivalries clashed, both teams displaying great defensive effort. Carver began the scoring late in the second quarter, starting with a drive at the Hayes 39 yard line. The first big play was when quarterback Kenny Morns hit tightend Johnny Green on a third and six situation. On the next play Morris again hit Green with a 17 yard pass. Randall Perryman then gained a yard to give Carver a second and goal at the Hayes one. Then on the next play a quarterback sneak was fumbled, but tightend Johnny Green picked up the loose ball and scored giving the Rams a 6-0 halftime lead. The third quarter was a defensive battle, neither team scoring until the fourth quarter when Hayes quarterback hit his wide receiver on a nine yard pass in the end zone. The referees disagreed on the call but Hayes was awarded the touchdown. The score stood 6-6 until Hayes kicked the extra point. With 6:32 left in the fourth quarter. Morris connected with Green who caught the ball along the Hayes sideline running down several yards and then cutting back to his right and went into the end zone. However the ball was called back on another questionable call ruling that he had stepped out of bounds. W'lth time running out. Carver was unable to move the ball. The game ended with the score Hayes 7 and Carver 6. The game was later reversed after a review of the game films and Carver was awarded the victory. 97
