The members of the council have made every effort to fulfill their purpose, which is to establish student initiative, leadership, and democracyg to pro- mote the general welfare of the students and to stimulate school spiritg to arouse good fellowship among the students, faculty, and communityg to create a wholesome interest in all activities of the school and communityg and to create and maintain standards of good citizenship among students. During the year the Student Council had many, many activities. The council was in charge of all ticket sales at all home football and basketball games and one basket- ball tournament. This year the council began the sale of milk to the student body. All money from this venture will go into the fund for buying a new curtain for the stage. The council also handles the sale of pencils and workbooks. Other activities include: assisting with College Night, Parent's Night and Career Night, sponsored the Safe-Teen Club: decorated the school for Christmas, entered a prize-winning float in the Home-coming Parade: and we hope to take part in the school carnival. The council also has given donations to several charitable organizations including the Red Cross, Salvation Army, March of Dimes, and Cerebral Palsy. Early in the year Council representatives attended the annual convention of the Southwest Missouri Federation of Student Councils. The convention was very helpful in obtaining worthwhile suggestions from the discussion groups representing the stu- dent organizations from all over this section of the state. The Student Council of 1956 is very proud of its record and the student body it represents. OFFICERS President ....,,.,.,...., .............,..........,,.......,..,.. .......
