Student Connell lx 0WD y Ry Y SFK OND ROW t K BOITOM ROW M ry J D L K MyA OFFICERS Presldent Ray Carter Vice President lom Rawlings Secretary Saundra King Treasurer Loyd Comer Sponsor Mrs Chr1st1ne Webster The purpose of the 1953 Student Council has been to establish stu dent 1n1t1at1ve leadershlp and democracy to promote the general wel fare of the students and to arouse school spirit to promote good fellow ship among the students and close cooperation among the students fac ulty and community to create a wholesome interest ln all activities of the school and the community and to create and maintain standards of good C1t1Z8HShlp among students This has been accomplished through the splendid leadership of our president Ray Carter and the guidance of our sponsor Mis Christlne Webster The Student Councll has sold tickets at every home football and bas ketball game and the two basketball tournaments They have sold pencils on Wh1Ch were printed the football and basketball schedules The Councll has sponsored the commumty drives in which the school took part Rec Cross March of Dimes and Communlty Chest They have also furnished a YMCA membership for some worthy boy This year Councll representatives attended the annual convent1on of the Southwest MISSOUFI Federation of Student Counclls vshlch was ln Jophn Missouri The convention was xery helpful ln obtaining worth while suggestions from the discussion gloups representing the student orgamzatlons from all over this sectlon of the state The 1953 Student Council IS extremely proud of its lecord for the year and proud of the student body it represents Page 21 C I DAC ' R f onald Da ringer.
