'Maw qui The campus of Carthage High School is one of the loveliest in the state. At cer- tain seasons in the year it is breathtaking. Spring finds the campus a myriad of green. In Autumn the tints and hues of the ma- jestic trees are beautiful beyond descrip- tion. This campus has guarded and sheltered the radiant youth who dreams of the visioned future waiting beyond. Harassed at every turn by innumerable distracting' and disturbing influences, plagued by the spreading' extent of our modern crime, oppressed by a gencial restlessness ol' our people, the American public school realiz- cs that education holds the key to social stability, social disintegra- tion, or social progress. The times demand an education that presents useful knowledge, a discipline of the whole life, ideas rather than facts, and a conduct which masters self.
