A. F. S. STUDENT COMMITTEE This year Carthage Central is proud to have with us a girl from Zurich, Switzerland, Lisabeth Conrad. She is living with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams and family of Carthage. Lisabeth has taken an active part in girls' athletics and various other extracurricular activities along with her regular program of study. The American Field Service Student Committee, pre- sently is in its third year, had been started for the purpose of helping our student from abroad feel welcome and to become fully accepted at Carthage. QUIZ TEAM Under the direction of Mr. Ronald Yan- kowski, the Quiz Team competes inter- scholastically with several schools from all around northern New York. Each team competes in three meets, all of which are broadcasted over WWNY radio. The schools with the highest total of points meet in the championship in the spring. Our delegates to the Citizenship Educa- tion Conference attend the conference at Syracuse University in the spring. Members compete for large scholarships by means of a prepared speech and two round-table discus- sion.
