COMPUTERS The Computer Club is a new edition to Carterville High School. The sponsor, Brenda Bratcher, formed the organization using her computer students. To take a break from their hard work, they had a piz- za party during lunch. The officers for the Computer Club are as follows: Charles Hees - Presidentg Steve Hanagan - Vice President, Jim Mulvany - Secretaryg Chris Egelston - Treasury. The Comput- er Club helps the individual share his skills with a group to form useful tools for the future. SPANISH The Spanish Club is something new this year at CCHS. lt includes the entire Span- ish class which is approximately 18 stu- dents. Mrs. Luebbers is the sponsor and Spanish teacher. The club has four offi- cers, one from each class, they are, Fresh- man - Lorna Luebbers, Sophomore - Tracy Hayes, Junior - Tammy Williams, and Senior - Scott Woolard. This year, the club went out to dinner to a Mexican restaurant, hes Hombres, in Carbon- dale, and they also went to S.l.U. for For- eign Language day. OFFICE WORKERS The office workers are very dependable people. They are those students who are willing to give up their study hall to help in the office or Guidance Office. They deliver messages, and run various errands for Mrs. Sparks and Mrs. Appuhn. They also help Mrs. Appuhn when registering the in- coming freshmen for high school. Mrs. Ap- puhn and Mrs. Sparks appreciate these girls for all their help throughout the year. Y.E.S. The Y.E.S. Club is on the lookout all year round for new individuals who want to help the students of Carterville High School be- come more aware of problems that arise every day. The members of the Y.E.S. Club are leaders of good standards. An exam- ple of their leadership would be the fact that they try to show and tell students that drinking and driving DO NOT mix!! They also take time from their busy schedules to write letters to disabled children, whether they are young kids or high school stu- dents. They meet once a week, and their sponsor is Mrs. Susan Appuhn, who is also the Guidance Counselor. OFFICE WOFlKERS!93
