FRENCH The French Club has done a lot this year. Among their many activities were: a Christmas party, in January, they had their annual Bean Cake with a bean king Ol' John Grenfell really gets into eating and French club parties. queen fthe person who finds the bean is the Bean King or Bean Queenl. They had their spring picnic in April and a dinner in May. The main highlight of the year was the trip to Canada. The students left on g June 5, and returned home on June 13. They went by train and visited Montreal and Quebec City. Only 12 students went, but the ones who did go will say it was an experience they will never forget. The club meets once a month for their annual meet- ing. The officers for this year are: Presi- dent - Linda Updike, Vice-president - Chris Egelston, Secretary - Gail John- son, and Treasurer - John Forbes. SPANISH The Spanish Club is something new this year at CCHS. lt includes the entire Span- ish class which is approximately 18 stu- dents. Mrs. Luebbers is the sponsor and Spanish teacher. The club has four offi- cers, one from each class, they are, Fresh- man - Lorna Luebbers, Sophomore - Tracy Hayes, Junior - Tammy Williams, and Senior - Scott Woolard. This year, the club went out to dinner to a Mexican restaurant, hes Hombres, in Carbon- dale, and they also went to S.l.U. for For- eign Language day.
