Forbes, M. Payne. FORE!! GOLF The '84-'85 golf season wasn't an out- standing season overall, but there were some people who did rather well this sea- son. One of those people was a transfer stu- dent, Brian Thompson. He was one of the people who made up the Carterville Boys' Regional Team who competed in Carter- ville this year at the Crab Orchard Golf Club. The Boys' Regional Team was made up of John Forbes, Steve Spillman, Mike Fussner, T.J. Gentry, Mike Payne, and Bri- an Thompson. J Another such person was Debbie John- son who placed third in the Girls' Regional Tournament in West Frankfort. Both Deb- bie and Brian advanced to their respective Sectional Tournaments. BOYS' TRACK TEAM The track team came through town honking their horns and yelling that they had won the Varsity Black Diamond Con- ference. The team also won the Freshman- Sophomore Conference title. In addition to that, the track team won first place in the Christopher relay and second place in the Williamson County relay. They got fourth place in the meet of champs. They set six records.
