VARSITY CHEERLEADERS Being a cheerleader isn't all fun and games like everyone thinks it is. lt takes a lot of dedication to be a cheerleader. Cheerleaders make the school spirit by FRONT ROW: Dawn Flunge. SECOND ROW: Autumn Adams, Beth Tierney Drew. THIRD ROW: Amy Dawson, Karri Shasteen, Jackie Merkin trying to get everyone involved. If the cheerleaders are enthused then the fans usually get involved. The cheer- leaders went to camp at Illinois State and learned a lot of cheers. This year's group was very close and worked well together. All of the cheerleaders learned and contributed to the making of a great squad. 2

SOFTBALL The 1984 Fall softball season began with mostly young, enthusiastic players. Most of our players were sophomores with leadership, provided by seniors - Jackie Merkin and Jodi Lewis - and Junior - Jeannie Epps. The team will always be re- membered by me as the hardest working team I have had. Although we struggled to get a win all season long, this team laid the ground work for a bright future in softball for their remaining years in high school. The season concluded with Jodi Lewis and Jeannie Epps being named AlI-Confer- ence. The 1985 Spring season opened with most of the same players plus two new- comers. As the season began, we quickly got a win under our belts and continued to make steady progress throughout the sea- son. Congratulations are in order for these players on their dedicated effort and to Jeannie Epps our MVP.
