1927 BLACK DIAMOND 1927 Sen1or Play Second Childhood The Senior Play Second Childhood was glven Aprll 14th 1927 at the Lyric Theatre The scene Doctor Realyeas home was well laid even though lt was complicated Lawrence Damron alias Doctor Realyea carried his part as an absent minded professor very well After 25 years of work hardships and failures he d1scovered the Elixir of Youth which 1n the end had never been tested as he thought It had and he was forced to begin hxs experimentatlons all over again His daughter Sylvia Realyea a modern flapper type was carried by Reon Crain After all her love affalrs she finally came out all right with Phil while General Henry Burbeck Ray Boren was left ln the suds with all h1s wealth Ida Carter the Auntle Mrs Wellsmlller quarrelled and fussed with every one who came near her She never allowed any young man to put his arm around her 1n the morning When the time comes for her to play the part of the aunt in real life it seems that she will be well prepared to do so Reba Bearden Marcella a Spanish girl and the daughter 1n law of Gen eral Henry Burbeck caused much disturbance with her baby and was always golng to keel some one This was Rebas first experience on the stage but never the less she played her part excellently Philip Stanton a popular young man a partner of Professor Realyeas and very much ln love with Sylvia was played competently by Paul Baker This was also Pauls first acting experience Faye Bryan Sheriff Johnson with the ald of Deputy Sheriff Stoker How ard Miller had considerable trouble in keeping Professor Realyea and Ph1l1p Stanton from golng to Jail Their chief duties were to keep on track of all the neighborhood bables and dogs These parts were competently carried The part of Judge Sanderson a very dlgmfied sedate fellow was played by Edgar McCree who acted the part well Mrs Vlvvert the old gossip was the nuisance of the neighborhood and a nosy old sister who attended to other peoples affalrs so much that as a result of this her baby and dog were stolen Mrs Henderson Louise Odgen Mrs Vivvert s mother was the present day type of grandmother who is eter nally runnlng down the on coming generatlon with her old fashloned ldeas Lucille Norton Lo1s Lindsey was a nelghbor of Mrs Vlvverts She was the kind who get their cars taken from them for not paying the payments due The play was pronounced a howling success by everyone l89 -0- -o- s 1 ll ' 11 ' ' 1 1 , . .
