1927 BLACK DIAMOND 1927 Sophomore Class H1stor y Seventy four good members and true' After elght years of worklng together ln the grades they graduated and faced the prospects of hlgh school The next year about seventy five were enrolled as Freshmen IU the C C H S Then the muslc started The class advlsors were MISS Splres and Mxss Armstrong The class presldent was Kenneth Corley and VICC presldent Rlchard Watson the secre tary The date September 15 may be forgotten but that first Freshman party w1ll not be forgotten by 1ts partlclpants Every boy at the party surrendered to the vorac1ous cl1ppers Funny? Of course after all It was l1ved through and no 111 feehngs are left There were however other more fortunate partles That year Freshman worked hard Freshmen had fun Freshmen asplred to great thlngs Freshmen partlclpated ln every act1v1ty of hlgh school seventy four students met as Sophomores Miss Armstrong and Mr Allan were the class advlsors Kenneth Corley agam became presldent Rlchard Watson v1ce presldent and Juamta Rxchardson became secretary treasurer The muslc IS now SW1I1glI1g merrlly The Sophomores novn sxt closer to the Semors Now the Sophomores are 1n every HCt1V1tj Sophomores pose as football and basketball players three Sophomores are on the debatxng team Mr Hale won h1s rep as a smger at the flrst Sophomore party wh1ch was held at the home of Hazel Boswell The part1es are not badly dlsturbed th1s year So much for partles the Sophomores mean busmess they are dlgglllg ln th1s year the class IS well orgamzed may the good mus1c end trxumphantly 4 1 ' n - I - ' X 1 ' ' vi I 1 , Then an active school year closed. a good long vacation passed, and 1 ' n y I I v' - I 1 I I Y v ' k I I 7?
