First Class Petty 0fHcers are generally recog- nized as the first line of leadership. They are often responsible for the day-to-day supervi- sion and overall operation of a work center 1 or division. Additionally, they serve as Sailor advocates with a crucial communication role that plays up and down the chain of com- mand. The members focus on open commu- nication with other First Class Petty Officers, hone their leadership skills, and act as men- tors for junior-enlisted Sailors. ln the beginning we simply wanted the as- sociation to take a proactive role in increas- X ing the quality of life on CARTER HALL, said Damage Control lst Class Rinker, the associationis vice president. We then decid- ed it would be a good idea to try and enhance communication between all Hrst classes to further that goal. CARTER I-lALIjs First Class Association make a positive impact on junior Sailors, and are always looking for new members to join in an effort to expand and have a lot of fun in ' Q the process. By developing trust and respect through working relationships, the associa- tion can exceed any challenges set forth. Carter Hall's 1st Class Association is ready for new challenges 76
