CLASS Ill 'l'0llY .wiv Shirley, Becky 8: Stanley Sandra 84 Duane X Yvonne 8a Carroll L. Linda, Sharon, Sarah, Loretta, Sandy, Gary, Duane and Art, CLASS HISTORY Four groups of students out of our Senior class attended school together for twelve years. Linda Carpunky, Sharon Howard, Sarah Williams, Loretta Smith, Sandra Carter, Gary Turpin, Art Linn, and Duane Pruitt spent twelve years at Carrollton, At Eldred, Shirley Camerer, Becky Bechdoldt, and Stanley Tribble started, Yvonne Gilbert and Carroll Evans began their school career at Forest Oak. At Mt, Gilead, Sandra Landon and Duane Var- ble began their school career, September 1, 1951 saw these students and other members of the class of '55 start to high school, The first . event of importance, which all Freshmen mustface, was the Freshman initiation. With it's completion we were ' full fledged members of Carrollton High School, The rest of the year was rounded out with several parties. Our Sophomore year brought about an increased population in our class, The school had been consolidated which brought students from Eldred and surrounding areas, Something which we shall never forget is the Hawk we made for the homecoming parade, Significant of this year was the standard crest chosen for our rings by the Jun- iors. Out side of thiswe spent a quiet and relaxed year, At last we had become upperclassmen, We were now Juniors, and as Juniors, we had to work hard to finance the Junior-Senior prom, Among our enterprises to raise money for the prom was the annual Junior class play, Meet Corlis Archer. Under the successful guidance of Miss Bell, our play proved to be a success, We worked hard to finance the prom and were granted much satisfaction by it's great success, The theme of the prom was Evening in the Islands, We have entered the last lap of our high school career, We are Seniors, As Seniors we have worked hard and we must continue to work hard, The Senior class is responsible for the Annual and the senior trip, The Snowflake Festival was the first event of major importance to raise money, The Senior class play, Girl Shy, was a success and increased our treasury, The proceeds from the preceding events, plus the money we received from the sale of the annuals and Ready-Jell brought us through comfortably, On May 20, we shall take a trip to Kirkwood Lodge in Missouri, The Senior Tea will be the last gathering of our class before we graduate, Our days are numbered now. On May 31, our high school career will end, These four short years have passed quickly and we shall never forget our days at C. C. U. ll. S. 17
