On Friday afternoon the Homecoming Parade began, consisting of 54 floats. The parade was the largest since Homecoming began 6 years ago. Prizes were awarded to the three best floats. The Girls Music Float placed first, the Sophomore class second, and the Art 2 Float third. Store windows were attractively decorated for the occasion. At 8 o'clock came the opening kickoff of the game before a large crowd. Carrollton came out on top with a 28 to 0 victory over Roodhouse. The Homecoming Dance supplied a gay and festive finale to Homecoming Week. The gym was beautifully decorated with clusters of green and white streamers floating from the ceiling. H. Penny's Band provided the music. The highlight of the evening, the crowning of the queen, found Sandra Carter, a junior the queen. She is the first underclassman to become queen.
