Students Evchouged The American Field Service, A.F.S., is an organization which sup- ports foreign exchange students. It was started during World War I by ambulance drivers in an effort to promote peace. There is an adult and student chapter. Both students and adults work together to raise money to send American students abroad and to support foreign students in Carlsbad. A.F.S. activities this year included an Enchilada Dinner, bake sales, and a Christmas party, and selling football programs. This year we had with us Rena Walsemann, from Hagen, West Ger- many, and Fary Tazebahor of Mashhad, Iran. Kathy Carmichael (right) was selected to go to Pelotas, Brazil, for a year.
