. it did every time the Lancer Band stepped in time to parades in Poway, Fallbrook, the Au- tumn Band Review, and Escondido. They were te- levised in the rain in Mother Goose Parade. Their new music march The Standard of Saint Georgeā and 2nd year drum major, Richard Marquez, turned the heads of many large bands. Halftime shows drawn up by Bob Kendrick were enjoyed by the everincreasing football crowd. Hard, long practices paid off as the band attended U.S.C. Band Night in the Los Angeles Colliseum. As the band increased in number so did the spirit and pride. They played for pep assemblies, won the canned food drive at Christmas, sold com- munity band calendars and entered many music competitions to better their sound and appearance. They also worked toward a two week camp in Hawaii touring and entertaining the Islanders. The Band-Aides attend all performances, help- ed with grooming and encouraged spirit and the realization that Carlsbad has the BEST BAND. by First Row: Anne Farmer, Lt.; Chris Ennerson, Capt.; Robin Lester, Lt.; Second Row: Cindy Perkins, Peggie Murray, Judy Serna, Suzy Phillips, Carol Hickey, Felecia Russell, Leslie Stiffler, Tammy Gann.
