MRS. DEBORAH KIVIAHO J A Tribute Carlmont is losing a dear friend. After 17 years of service in the Sequoia Union High School District, Mrs. Deb- orah Kiviaho is retiring. She was a mem- ber of the original staff at Carlmont and has taught English and drama dur- ing her 11 years here. Previously, she taught many years in the state of Wash- ington. Because of her deep understanding of people, Mrs. Kiviaho is the favorite of many Carlmont students and every mem- ber of the faculty. She has guided many students toward their goals. Kivi, as she is affectionately called, has a knack for making literature, and and therefore life, interesting to even the most reluctant students. Many hours spent in front of a class have not dampened her vitality, wit, charm, and beauty. Mrs. Kiviaho can never really retire from Carlmont, because the memory of her presence will outlast the bricks and mortar. Mrs. Kiviaho, we respectfully dedicate this book to you.
