Custodians The custodial staff has stated that this has been one of the best years in keeping the school clean. According to Dave Whestone, vandalism this past year has been very limited. The most serious of- fense was that of the breaking in of the girls ' locker room during Christmas va- cation. Home Economics Along with the courses in general homemaking, foods, clothing, textiles, and nutrition, the Carl- mont home economics department offered family relations, child development, housing, home man- agement and health to prepare girls for their fu- ture homemaking careers. The foods courses ranged from baking a cake to preparing exotic foreign dishes. The girls in the clothing classes have certain requirements which must be completed during the year, those being skirts, blouses, dresses and an optional project.
