elsie Dubois vice -principal Mrs. Elsie DuBois, dean of girls, celebrates her tenth year at Carlmont, moving over from Sequoia with the student body in April of 1953. Among her many duties, Mrs. DuBois assi sts in supervision of attendance, and supervises Carl- mont ' s many clubs and service groups. She also assists the principal and helps vice- principal Francis Ferry in general campus super- vision. FRANCIS FERRY VICE -PRINCIPAL Francis Ferry, dean of boys, completed his sec- ond full year as Carlmont vice-principal. Mr. Ferry has been at Carlmont since 1954, teaching in the mathematics department. His duties include supervision of discipline, gene- ral supervision of the campus, and supervision of attendance records. Mr. Ferry coordinates the athletic program at Carlmont and is interested in prep athletics. OLIVER (PETE) EITZEN VICE-PRINCIPAL Oliver Eitzen, newest of Carlmont ' s three vice- principals, has been at Carlmont since 1954 as registrar and head counselor. As head counselor, Mr. Eitzen coordinates the work of 11 Carlmont counselors. As registrar, he supervises registration of Carl- mont students, aids the principal in preparing the master schedule of classes, registers students enter- ing from elementary school, and enrolls transfer students.

IVAN GRIFFIN PRINCIPAL Principal Ivan Griffin has been on the Carlmont scene since the school ' s inception in 1952. He served as vice-principal during his first eight years of service and assumed his present office in January of I960. The growth, in size and enrollment, has added to the many responsibilities facing a modern-day ad- ministrator. Mr. Griffin maintains a close relation- ship with community, faculty, staff and student representatives to provide Carlmont with effective leadership and guidance. k. DR. REX H. TURNER SUPERINTENDENT Dr. Rex H. Turner bears the responsibility for the operation of the six schools within the Sequoia Union high school district. Careful planning, coupled with close contact of the problems facing individual schools and long years of experience has enabled Dr. Turner to guide the expansion of the district from 5,546 to 10,012 students within six years, without compro- mising the high standard of education available throughout the district. During Dr. Turner ' s tenure of office, three additional schools have opened with two more to be constructed within the next few years.
