English Department What keeps 20 English teachers busy? Teaching the many courses that were offered this year at Carlmont, many of which were electives. Besides the required three years of EngHsh for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, there was the senior elective program, which is an experimental program being tested not only here at Carlmont but at other schools in the Sequoia high school district. Examples of these English electives offered are Language and Thought, World Literature, and the regular English IV. Next year there will be no required English for seniors, but it will be offered for those who wish to take it. DO YOU SPELL ' A CAPELLA ' WITH TWO OR THREE L ' s? ' 12
