Commander, CarrierAirWing serves as the Strilce Wartare Commander tor the Battle Group and is responsilale tor conducting prompt and sustained ohtensive and detensive air operations as directed lag the Battle Group Commander. Our units must he capalale ot attaclcing shore-laased targets which threaten control ot the sea, while, at the same time, he ready to conduct sustained air comlaat operations in su port ot triendlij torces. Carrier Air Wing is accountalale tor the operational and adininistrative control ot the AirWing. The following squadrons malce up CVW-I I - VFA-97, VFA-94, VFA-zz, Vi:-2.15, VAQi 55, VAW-1 17, V5-29, VRC-50 and H5-6. The Air Wing Commander ensures the squadrons maintain material readiness and receive the necessarij training to execute their respective missions. He is also responsilale tor the development and estalalishment ot the high standards ot proicessional competence, proticiencu, discipline and morale required to achieve and to maintain the highest levels ot comlaat readiness.
