J ' ' ' ,., Q 15---f--f-----1--' A 4-em 'IC Jefferson High School. Jefferson Town Hall. .Celt We 'Dfonqet SCHURZ IN REVIEW, 1910-1935 CHURZ might be said to have begun humbly enough about sixty years ago in jefferson Town Hall. Here some classes were held, though there were no graduates. In the year 1883, a real building for the district was erected. This was known as the jefferson Township High School and had an initial graduating class of one. A wingless structure housing some seven hundred students was opened at the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Addison Street in 1910. This now constitutes the central part of our building. About 1914, the east wing was added, though a forest of small proportions still stood over the site of the new Assembly Hall. The West wing was not put into use until 1925.
