5 . ..... ,,,A, .AIAIA V 222215222213 Excitement was everywhere as we went head-on with Alahambra Lions at the Homecom- ing game. Then came halftime. The moment we were all waiting for. The nominees were announced and sudden silence hit the crowd. The 1987-88 Homecoming Queen Letty Yslava placed her hands over her eyes and tears of happiness ran down her cheeks. The student body applauded and cheered. A bright faced Homecoming King, Jesse James, and the crowd went wild. Princess Sandra Abril and John Chavez both expressed happiness about their elections. For their victo- ries the King and Queen each received a fifty- dollar certificate from the Navy and Army. We may have lost the football game, but spirit and pride of the falcons marched on. 0 'LC ' 7 Ewa, I was speechless, and my friends were more excited than I was, said Brandy Pelch when she was chosen for sophomore princess. I was thrilled and excited when they called my name, said Todd I-Iolt when he was chosen for sophomore prince. There was an assembly after school to announce the nominees. But at the dance the winners were announced. I never thought I would winf' stated Frank James when he was chosen for sophomore King. The king and queen were also announced at the dance. They were Frank James and Sylvia Rosales. The Sophomore Starlight was held on November 13, 1987. The dance was held in the cafeteria. The school brought in Me- gasound, which everyone seemed to like.
